When we think of things that could impact our driving, we think of extreme weather such as hail or snow. However, low sun and bright sun can be one of the biggest problems drivers face. But, what can drivers do to reduce the effects of blinding sunlight?

When the sun is low it may be difficult to get much value out of your visor. That is why it is beneficial to invest in some sunglasses. Sunglasses will not only drastically reduce the bright sun rays that reach your vision, they will also protect your eyes from harmful UV rays.

THINK ABOUT OTHER DRIVERS

When driving in bright and low sun, that means that some drivers may be experiencing the same problems as you. Try to maintain a constant speed, keeping a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. Be cautious in the mornings and evenings, when the sun is especially low in the sky. Try to avoid driving in times when sunlight is brightest. If you do not have to drive in bright sunlight, wait a few minutes until the sun has completely risen or set before heading to your destination.
