Here at Speed Couriers, we provide you with the latest updates regarding couriering and the roads we use every day. Maintenance of the existing road system might not spark excitement but it is extremely important. We rely on our roads to get to work, to the shops, to school and to keep businesses up and running. Therefore, ensuring that our roads are in working order should be a top priority.

In one of our latest blog posts, we highlighted poor road conditions that have been brought to light. To resolve some of the problems on our roads several resurfacing schemes have been launched. This focused on issues such as our roads melting during the hot weather and of course potholes.

Roads across East Sussex are set to become smoother and pothole free under one of these schemes. A total of 24 roads within this county have been included in 2017 surface dressing plan. These improvements are to be made during July and August.

Road improvements have commenced a little closer to home too. Manchester City Council has begun a £100m five-year highway improvement programme. The work outlined in this programme will be carried out across the city next year. More than £15m will be invested across the next 12 months to fund resurfacing of key roads, including Cheetham Hill Road and Palatine Road.

Once the disruption has cleared we are looking forward to seeing the finished results of the planned work.
