Footpaths that will also be receiving attention by the council. This work will begin in the coming months with the first roads reaching completion by next spring. The council says that the resurfaced roads will last for approximately 15 to 20 years. The roads that have potholes that need to be patched up will last for a decade once repaired.
When potholes and other damage is left untouched, the surrounding asphalt will weaken. When a car drives over a pothole not only could their vehicle be damaged but the pavement also crumbles. Pavement distress will multiply if it is timely maintenance is not performed which is why focus is finally being placed into our roads.
